Sarah Tallu Scott Schuyler

I began my creative journey after I graduated from college. I lived in New York City and took classes at the Art Students League. I went on to take graduate classes at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, and have continued to take classes in both art and art education ever since.

I’ve taught adult classes at many schools, including The Ivy School of Art, Carnegie Institute, Chautauqua Institute, Watkins College of Art and Design, Middle Tennessee State University and Cheekwood Botanical Gardens.

In 2000, I began teaching children and fell in love with the creativity and enthusiasm of the young artist. Since then, I have had the joy of being the art teacher at the at the Oak Hill School in Nashville, Tennessee.

I am an oil painter. I try to find the simple beauty, the essence of my subject and create. I have exhibited my work in galleries and many other venues in Nashville.

For the past 40 years, my husband, Thom, and I lived and raised our family in Nashville where he was a professional songwriter. We are thrilled to be moving from Tennessee to Jekyll Island, a very special place. Both my Grandmother and my parents lived here – it is both home and paradise to me.
